A total of 53 volunteers took part in the HLF-funded Touching the Tide Dunwich Dig. Over the nine day excavation these volunteers, with ages ranging between 6 and 80, shifted over 62 metric tons of soil, which equates to moving the weight of 97 Mini Coopers! A very 'well done' to all involved!
Based on the participants' feedback, 95% rated the experience either 'Excellent' or 'Good' with the majority of people also saying that meeting new people, finding things and learning more about Dunwich were what they enjoyed most about the dig.
