Bulmer Fieldwalking

As part of the Heritage Lottery Funded Managing a Masterpiece project, Access Cambridge Archaeology (ACA) ran two fieldwalking events, over two days, on the 8th and 8th November 2012, close to the village of Bulmer in Essex and overlooking the beautiful Stour Valley.

The fieldwalking was undertaken by 74 local residents and volunteers over the two days, including 30 pupils attending Bulmer Primary School, and their accompanying staff. Many thanks are owed to Ashley Cooper, local historian and landowner, who was instrumental in organising both days.

89% of adult respondents rated their experience of the fieldwalking as ‘excellent’ or ‘good’, while 94% would recommend the activity to others.
