last modified Feb 05, 2014 10:45 AM
Explore the museums of Cambridge by torchlight on Wednesday 19th February 2014 in a mixture of free drop-in and bookable events on the theme of exploration and adventure.

Dust off your torch, download an explorer guide and discover the magic of the Cambridge museums during the twilight hours this half term. On Wednesday 19th February 2014, twelve of the Cambridge museums in and around the city will be open for an exciting range of free and family-friendly events. They will be welcoming visitors from 4:30pm as darkness descends and, due to the popularity of previous 'Twilight a the Museum' events, the opening hours will be extended by an hour to 8:30pm.

The Museum of Archaeology & Anthropology will be welcoming explorers, young and old, to drop-in and spot some of their most intriguing and exotic exhibits by torchlight  in 'Explorer Bingo'. Follow the trail of treasures at the Museum of Classical Archaeology and see their statues come to life by torchlight. Hear some mythical and mysterious tales in the story-telling in the Egyptian and Greek galleries at the Fitzwilliam Museum but make sure to book a free ticket on the night to ensure entry.
